TOPIC: Favourite Number 2?

Re:Favourite Number 2? 7 years 6 months ago #1521

Hello Folks

I have to say that Colin Gordon of A, B & C & The General comes in at a photo finish with Leo McKern.

Colin has the whole No.2 as over confident Bureaucrat with new powerful technological toys that can destroy the individual down pat .... and that is what The Prisoner was all about.

Colin was tampering with our dreams long before that amateur Freddy Krueger and even goes toe to toe with No.6 himself in the quoting history smack down in The General... and actually wins the first round .... a very neat feat indeed.

True,he survives in A.B.&C.to cringe another day only because No.6 gives him a little information that he was not going to defect .....but the scene of No.2 sweating away staring at the Red Phone in A.B.&C. is priceless.

If you take the first bits of Arrival and cut at the funeral march you could then go to A.B.&C. + The General and have one complete nifty The Prisoner film that would leave you asking ...Why?.... did they even bother with The Prisoner 2009 .... when there is material and performances such as this to enjoy.

My second favourite would have to be Rachel Herbert. Great as Number Fifty-Eight. Menacing as the incoming Number Two.
