Was he really free? After Fall Out he goes into No. 6's house... the door opens automatically, just like in the Village. If No. 6 isn't free, then I would have to wonder about the Butler.

Wonder why he didn't have a number? Was he too insignificant to merit one?

I like him, though.

Maybe he likes to live in the village... but I don't know, he first did what number 2 told him, but in Fall Out he was at Number 6's left, he stayed with him when he came back in London [if it's London and not the Village...], and Number 6 was indifferent of it...
And also the other two people that escaped from the Village with him, what happened to them?
Are them controlled by the Village like Number 6?

However, I think that the Butler is the Key character of the Village: he hasn't got a number, so Number 1 maybe thought that he was insignificant, but he's the most important figure in the Village, he can listen everything and did everything because everybody [but Number 6] thought that he wasn't important.
I know that it sounds confused, but I hope that you can understand what I mean.

I like him, too.

Love the photo on the front page with the production staff holding an umbrella for Sir Ian like The Butler!
I am not a number, I am a free woman.

The Butler is a very interesting character and I don't know that he has ever really been defined. One of the glories of the series!

(your English is fine.)
