I watched the Prisoner remake and hated it. I was hoping that Rover would hunt down the writers so they would never to be heard from again. This mini series was an insult.

I could not agree more.

To paraphrase something dumb a friend once said, "If Patrick McGoohan was alive he'd be spinning in his grave".

This was one of the worst written pieces of trash TV I have ever forced myself to watch. I knew it was garbage just from the first episode but FORCED myself to keep watching it in the hopes that it would get better.

I had such high hopes for it too, after learning that Caviezel and McKellen would be the lead actors. This is the type of tripe that they will spend years trying to live down and erase from their resumes. Shockingly bad. Beyond awful. Embarrassing and disgraceful.

Being devoured by Rover is too good a fate for the writers/whoever came up with this mess. Although I suspect there must be some long stories behind the scenes of people either being fired, resigning (LOL), etc and the basic storylines being rewritten multiple times by different people, ruining the whole concept of whatever it was they hoped to achieve with this project. I can't even believe that AMC thought this was worth releasing.

Oh - and did I say I didn't like it?

I also forced myself to watch. It was painful. I can't believe that Patrick McGoohan had anything to do with this. The only part I found interesting is when the new No.6 finds the bearded old man seeking shelter. Was that suppose to be the original No.6 still trying to escape after all these years? If so, that would indicate that episode 17 (Fallout) of the original series never happened. I can't accept that.

Patrick McGoohan had nothing to do with the remake. His wife said he was "adamant" about that.

I wonder how that rumor got started. I'm rather glad to know that.

'They wanted Patrick to have some part in it,' McGoohan's wife said, 'but he adamantly didn't want to be involved. He had already done it.'
