In the article about the show not being a copy, Ian Mckellen is quoted as saying "By episode six you'll know everything about the Village, where it came from, who created it and why, what it's like to actually live there.".

I think this sounds bad news. The appeal of the original was the unanswered questions. if they lay it all out on a plate it will be dull + if they answer ALL the questions there is no chance of a second series.

You're right. Questions, warnings, observations, but no answers were the hallmark of the original. If we know everything by episode six, what will be left for the imagination? Still, I'm keeping my hopes up. I would like to see the remake be an introduction to the Prisoner for a new generation. I hope they get it right!

Hi Jan and Chloe,

I'm nervous about the remake. Perhaps I'm just completely devoted to the original and should approach the remake with an open heart and mind but...

... I don't know.

Just remain nervous.

I'm kind of wondering about it these days. I was interested in what Mr. McGoohan thought of the whole thing, and then read in an interview that he loved it and loved the cast, but couldn't take part in it. So I thought that was a good thing. But then, in the interview with his wife after he passed away, she said something like he "adamantly" was not interested, which sounded more negative than poor health or schedule conflicts. Don't know what to think these days, but will wait and see.

Hi Jan,

I'd like to read the interview with Mrs. McGoohan. Do you have a link to it?

I think she's an incredible person too.

Thanks

I think his attitude to the whole thing was "it's been done". Same to his attitude with explaining the series.. it's done, so if he had to explain it, he'd failed to do so within the series.
